Back in 1978, when I first found out I was Lactose Intolerant, I had literally never heard the words before. Worse, there was no place to get even the most basic information on the subject.
Times have changed. Most people have at least heard of LI. But learning that you are LI still brings with it the same shock, the same questions, the same sinking feeling that nothing will ever be the same.
A few of you may indeed have to drastically change your lifestyles. Many more of you just have to learn to be more careful of what you eat, learn a few substitutions, and remember always to read ingredients lists on food packages.
